Top Ten Ways to Save Money on Your Wedding

| |

Always dreamed of a beautiful wedding with the perfect dress, flowers, ambiance? Is there just one thing keeping your heart from experiencing everything you have ever desired for your special day? If it just happens to be your wedding budget, don’t worry.

Check out these ten ways you can save money on your wedding.

1. Know what elements of your wedding are most important to you and your finance. Is it the dress that will make your special day, the venue, or flowers? Is it having all of your friends and relatives there to share in your special occasion? Or is the destination that is most important to you? Knowing what is most important to you will help you decide where you can splurge and where you can cut back.

2. Create a prioritized budget. After you decide what the most important elements are to you, you can then prioritize your wedding budget accordingly. Creating a budget ahead of time will save you from the surprise factor when you start shopping wedding vendors.

3. Shop around. Check out what sales, discounts, and specials wedding vendors are offering. Click the link below for current wedding promotions, discounts, and special offers being offered:

4. Negotiate. If you are working within a specific budget for your wedding, ask wedding vendors what products/ services they can provide within a specific price range. You may learn that wedding vendors are flexible and many work with all types of weddings and budgets.

5. Avoid the peak wedding season. If you can, choose not to have your wedding in the late spring or summer months if you are trying to save money. This is typically the peak season for wedding vendors, and wedding costs can be higher during this time. Wedding vendors may be more willing to accommodate you during the off-peak months.

6. Consider other days than Saturday. Perhaps an intimate wedding ceremony on a Friday afternoon with close friends and family, and then a Sunday lunch reception will give you the wedding you always dreamed off with out the premium cost of a Saturday wedding.

7. Have centerpieces that are outside of the ordinary. We all love beautiful bouquets… but there are so many alternatives for creative brides. How much are simple ice sculpture centerpieces? Are they cheaper than tall bouquet centerpiecess? Can you make your own centerpieces? What are the cost of wholesale flowers? Consider where you want to spend both your time and money when planning your wedding.

8. How important is photography and videography to you? These days everyone has digital cameras. If photography or video, isn’t as important to you, maybe hire a professional photographer for a limited number of hours for the most important parts of the ceremony or reception. Then, put your trusted friends on assignment and let them have fun creatively capturing your special day. Even consider hiring student photographers as extra backup.

9. Go digital for your wedding. Consider creating your own website, and creating online invitations and RSVPs. Wedding websites and blogs are a great way for you to communicate the details of your wedding with your guests. Going online is a perfect solution for the modern bride.

10. There is always Vegas!

It sounds counter-productive, but use a wedding personal shopper (like me!!!) I have great connections with suppliers & vendors and unlike other vendors I carry no inventory expenses and order only and exactly what you need...this results in much lower prices! Discounts of 30%-40% off most items (invitations, favors, accessories, decorations, centerpieces, stationery, etc.) www.kreativeeventservices.com for more info
